A kind "Thank you"

Today, I was getting decorations and yarn ready for the big party in a few weeks and to be honest there are sometimes when I think " What am I doing with this project?". I was having one of those moments (moments when I just feel a little lost or even discourage with this project). Isn't it interesting that when things seem to be gloomy that the right "pick me up" comes just in time?!?! I think so.

As I was busy around the house, I noticed that I got an email and it was the BEST "pick me up" and exactly what I needed to read to remind me how IMPORTANT Love Caps really is!

This is the very first email I have gotten from a someone who has received a Love cap from one of the hospitals we donate to. It made me cry and proud all at the same time.

Here it is: (permission from writer to share)

Dear Friends,

I just spent fifteen days on the second floor cancer ward at Summit Hospital, without any preparation time, as I was admitted quickly. I have had almost continual chemo treatments since 2004, so I am really bald. The hat that I wore in was getting gamy, but I didn't want to take it off. Call it vanity.

One of my nurses told me about the lovely hats that your group donated to cancer patients. I really enjoyed picking out a light weight, kind of loose, multicolored hat, of which I received many complements.

Thank you very much for your kindness.
Best regards!

This is exactly what I needed today!!!

  1. Hi Carissa,

This is really great! What an awesome way to reach out to the community. Anybody can do sweet things like that, but even sweeter when you have the truth and can reach out to people. Glad to see you're doing something like this. :) Love,

    Jen

Thanks for the comment! I often wonder who reads my postings!

I pray that through this project God can use me to reach out to those who really need Him the most at this time in their lives!!
