November already?!?! Where has this year gone?

Happy November!!

Hello all, I apologize for neglecting my blog lately. I really do not have a good enough excuse for this neglect, but please forgive me! =)

I can not believe that it is already November and that 2010 is coming to a fast end. So much has happened this year and it is just unbelievable that it is almost over. Time definitely goes by too fast. I wish it would slow down sometimes, so I can take everything in at a more steady pace. Oh well, that is life.

Anyway, November is full of important dates for me. November 1st marked 6 months since my daddy went on to be with Jesus. November 18 (Thursday) is my daddy's birthday. He would have been 51. November is Lung Cancer awareness month. Can't forget that Thanksgiving is just around the corner (yum! food food food). Whew, it's a eventful month to say the least, yet bittersweet. Emotions have been without a doubt hitting me and my mom, but we vow to be happy, smile, and remember the good times! Dad would be upset at us if he knew we were sad or crying for him. So, as this month goes by (quickly) I am doing my very best to keep my head held high, smile, and be happy all in honor of the most wonderful man to every walk into my life. I love you dad!

Here is a picture of my dad's 50th birthday celebration:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND MISS YOU TERRIBLY! I PLAN TO CELEBRATE YOUR SPECIAL DAY BY SMILING, EATING AND SHOPPING!

On to some Love caps business: (I have so much to report)

1. I met with a woman who works in public relations. She is such a kind person and has been gracious enough to donate some of her time to helping me and Love Caps expand and succeed beyond what we have done thus far. She has so many grand ideas. She is definitely optimistic and thinks outside the box. I am so very thankful for this opportunity to work with someone who has the experience and knowledge that I lack. I have a feeling that good things will come out of this working relationship!

2. You guys might remember that in August my friend Danielle and I participated in the "Free to Breathe" Lung Cancer walk in San Diego. Well, last week I got a very kind email from the National Lung Cancer Partnership and a link to LC4C is posted on their website. How amazing is that?!?!?! I am so excited! Check out this link http://www.nationallungcancerpartnership.org/index.cfm?page=cancer_resources A special "thank you" to Danielle for giving them a call and telling them all about Love Caps!

3. Next month I will be having a crochet party for the High School students that attend a local school. I think there are about 35 students excited to learn to crochet! It is so nice to see so many young people willing to help us out. They are all great kids. I am looking forward to this party! It will be fun!!

4. I have 2 new hospitals that will be getting Love Caps within the next 2 weeks: one in Mt. View and the other is in Fremont. We are growing!

I am so busy! I do not know if I can keep up with everything right now. So many things I want to do and so many things that need to be done! I feel so overwhelmed, yet very thankful and humble. Amazing things are happening for us and I can't thank God enough for all He has done...if it wasn't for Him none of this would be possible. That's the truth!!!

Anyway, these are just some of the exciting new updates that I wanted to share with everyone. I am still in awe of our growth. My dad would be so proud...I wish he was here and we could celebrate Love Caps' success!

I am excited to see what is in store for us this coming year! Stay tuned...

  1. I am so proud of you, daughter! I know dad is also proud of you.

Yes, I will again be a 'teacher' to the next event - it's so heart-warming to see the kids learn to crochet - even the boys!

    Love,
    Mom
